A New Commandment features a variety of arrangements reverently written to reflect the meaning of the Scriptures. Psalm 1 is in the style of Handel, with majestic trumpets and timpani. "Hear O Israel" uses the solemn cry of the Jewish shofar. African thumb pianos and a children's choir are featured in "I am the way the truth and the life".
